On February 16th local time, New Year's Eve of the Year of the Horse, the North American mainland once again lit up with „Chinese red.“ As night fell, the iconic Calgary Tower in Calgary, Canada, was bathed in festive red lights, bringing a warm festive atmosphere to the wintry city despite a blizzard. The illumination of this landmark will last until the first day of the Lunar New Year. Gradually, other well-known buildings, including Canada's CN Tower, joined in the celebrations.
With the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse, the China Media Group's (CMG) Gala promotional videos have crossed oceans and continents and continued their spread across Canada. Since early February, the Gala videos, along with the thematic campaign „Travel China with Movies,“ have been appearing in five key public spaces - the light rail system, shopping malls, sports venues, cultural institutions and universities.
Approximately 300 screens created an extensive communication network, bringing the atmosphere and magic of the Chinese Spring Festival to the Canadian public and helping to create a living bridge connecting different cultures and people.
The gala and its promotional videos received a positive response across Canadian society. Many locals said that the programme has awakened their interest in China and transformed them from mere spectators of the gala into people who want to experience and travel the country in person.
