The summer stage of the Ungelt Theatre has also included the proven and sought-after play The Shell with Alena Mihulová.
About the author: Contemporary Polish writer, journalist and playwright Marci Szczygielski (1972) has been a prominent figure in Polish cultural life for many years. In addition to his plays, of which Skořápka is the most famous, he writes children's novels and works as a journalist. He has been awarded prestigious national prizes for many of his works.
"Underneath the comedic scenes, there is something deeply human, real in this play." (Alena Mihulová)
"One of the main themes is how we shed our shells or masks, how we overcome mimicry, how we listen, communicate and try to be open to what we don't know. Two distinct personalities, subject to their prejudices and fears, meet. But during the play they open up to each other and suddenly we find that the path to growth is very easy. All people have to do is listen to each other." (Pavel Ondruch)
From Helena Grégrová's review (i-divadlo.cz):
"The delicate and touching story of a chance encounter between two women in different life situations and seemingly so different characters is transformed into an unmistakable move of the Ungelt Theatre on the goal of the audience's hearts through the flawless acting partnership of Alena Mihulová and Petra Nesvačilová. I still cherish the pleasant feeling and the cathartic experience of the gradual unraveling of the two heroines' shells, their journey towards understanding and mutual enrichment. And I applaud!"
