HAVANA - On Jan. 10, prominent dancers from Cuba and other countries will hold master classes as part of the Ballet Beyond Borders Havana 2025 event, which ends tomorrow after several days of competition. Master dancer and choreographer Lizt Alfonso and Cuban National Ballet prima ballerina Gretel Morejon will kick off the series, while Italy's Corinne de Bock and South Africa's Andile Ndlovu, a member of The Washington Ballet, and other guests will also perform.
These master classes will take place at the headquarters of the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC) in Old Havana.
According to Alfonso, one of the organizers of Ballet Beyond Borders Havana 2025, dance is the universal language that unites everyone, and this is the spirit of the event. In addition, she added that last year's first edition was a success and now a large number of students from all over Cuba, as well as from other countries, participate.
Charlene Carey, the director and founder of Ballet Beyond Borders in the United States and Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre, said the program they offer always mixes different styles.
