BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- China's total import and export volume of services rose by 9 % year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2023, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed Thursday.
According to the ministry, the volume of trade in services exceeded 5.89 trillion yuan (about 829.61 billion US dollars) in the January-November period last year.
Of the total, imports of services increased by 23.5 % year-on-year to reach 3.48 trillion yuan, while exports of services fell by 6.8 % year-on-year to 2.41 trillion yuan.
China's trade in knowledge-intensive services maintained steady growth during the period under review, rising 8.3 percent year-on-year to 2.44 trillion yuan.
Tourism-related services recorded significant growth. The total volume of this sector increased by 73.5 % year-on-year to over 1.31 trillion yuan.
Exports and imports of travel services increased by 56 % and 74.9 %, respectively, year-on-year.
