Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday sent a congratulatory message to the Global South Media and Think Tank Forum.
President Xi said in his report that the Global South is currently growing at a strong pace and playing an increasingly important role in the progress of humanity. China has always been part of the Global South and will always be one of the developing countries.
China is willing to work with the countries of the Global South to promote genuine multilateralism, advocate an equal and orderly multipolar world, and pursue universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization to jointly build a community of shared future for humanity, Xi said.
The President stressed that given the global changes of the century, the goal of the Global South countries is to strive for modernization and a more just and equitable international order, which are sacred historical tasks and common challenges of the time for the media and think tanks of the Global South.
Xi expressed his hope that the forum participants will engage in in-depth discussions, consensus building, and together strengthen the "voice of the Global South" in presenting the "resolve of the Global South."
He further called for contributing to the Global South to be a stabilizing force for peace, a backbone for openness and development, a constructive force in global governance and a driving force for mutual learning among civilizations.
