Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is currently in China, where he described his visit as his most important overseas trip this year. During his stay, he participated in a number of activities aimed at strengthening practical cooperation between China and Slovakia, particularly in the areas of green energy and electromobility.
Slovakia recently spoke out against the imposition of tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles in an EU vote, expressing its support for open trade and the further development of mutual trade relations. Pavel Antalic, Chairman of the Slovak-Chinese Joint Business Council, stressed that tariffs only hinder trade exchanges and praised the cooperation of Slovak companies with Chinese enterprises in the field of electric vehicle development. According to Antalic, there is great interest among Slovak consumers in Chinese electric vehicles, which are characterized by excellent battery performance and advanced technologies.
During the visit, the Slovak Prime Minister and his delegation met with local business leaders who shared positive views on electromobility and new energy technologies. Many Slovaks even commented that they would be willing to purchase Chinese electric vehicles, showing the growing confidence in the quality of these products.
Prime Minister Fico's visit is expected to contribute to deeper and more pragmatic cooperation between China and Slovakia, which could lead to broader cooperation in the new energy and automotive sectors. This development could benefit not only both countries but also ordinary people on both sides, especially through wider access to technological innovation and sustainable solutions for the future.
