On a month-on-month basis, agricultural producer prices fell by 2.0 % and were 5.5 % higher on a year-on-year basis. Industrial producer prices were up 0.4 % m-o-m and 1.7 % y-o-y. Construction prices rose by 0.3 % m-o-m and were 2.5 % higher y-o-y. Prices of market services for businesses decreased by 0.1 % m-o-m and were higher by 3.7 % y-o-y.
"Year-on-year, both agricultural prices accelerated to 5.5 % and industrial prices to 1.7 %. Construction prices were up 2.5 % year-on-year and prices of market services for businesses were up 3.7 %," notes Vladimír Klimeš, Head of the Department of Industrial Prices and Foreign Trade Statistics of the CZSO.
Prices agricultural producers with Monthly decreased by 2.0 %. Fruit prices fell by 3.2 %, poultry by 2.9 %, fresh vegetables by 0.9 % and pigs by 0.2 %. Prices of eggs increased by 22.1 %, oilseeds by 5.2 %, milk by 4.0 %, potatoes by 3.9 %, cattle by 2.7 % and cereals by 0.9 %. Year-on-year were the prices agricultural producers higher by 5.5 % (2.4 % in October). In crop production, prices rose by 3.2 %. Prices of oilseeds were 16.7 % and fruit 25.0 % higher, while potato prices fell by 5.5 % and cereals by 0.4 %. In livestock production, prices were higher by 9.6 %. Milk prices increased by 16.8 %, cattle by 14.8 % and eggs by 11.9 %. Pig prices fell by 6.1 % and poultry prices by 3.7 %.
Interim prices industrial manufacturers increased by 0.4 %. Prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning rose by 1.4 % and motor vehicles (excluding motorcycles), trailers and semi-trailers by 0.7 %. Higher prices were recorded for coke and refined petroleum products. Prices of food products increased by 0.3 %, especially dairy products by 2.4 %. Prices of other food products decreased by 1.3 %. Prices of basic metals and beverages decreased by 1.1 % and prices of fabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment by 0.3 %. Prices industrial manufacturers with year-on-year Prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning rose by 6.0 %, motor vehicles (excluding motorcycles), trailers and semi-trailers by 3.3 % and repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment by 4.6 %. Prices of food products increased by 1.0 %, especially dairy products by 10.1 1 %. Prices of dairy and starch products were lower by 8.9 %. Prices of coke and refined petroleum products fell. Prices of fabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, were down by 1.6 % and those of hard coal, lignite and lignite by 4.6 %. When assessed by the main industry groups have increased year-on-year prices of capital goods by 3.2 %, energy by 2.4 % and non-durable goods by 1.8 %. Prices market services for businesses with Monthly decreased by 0.1 %. Prices for advertising and market research services fell by 1.1 %, employment services by 1.0 %, management consultancy by 0.7 % and programming and broadcasting services by 0.4 %. Prices for film, video and television programme production services increased by 4,7 %, while prices for real estate and land transport services increased by 0,2 %. Prices for market services for enterprises not including advertising services remained unchanged. Prices market services for businesses were year-on-year Employment services rose by 15.5 %, advertising and market research services by 10.4 % and real estate services by 7.6 %. Prices for land transport services were lower by 0.8 %. Prices for market services for businesses excluding advertising services were higher by 3.1 % (2.9 % in October).
EU industrial producer prices - October 2024 (preliminary data)
In European Union (EU) countries, according to data published by Eurostat, prices industrial manufacturers in October Monthly prices increased by 0.4 % (down from 0.6 % in September), with prices increasing by 1.0 % in Estonia and Italy and by 0.9 % in France. Prices were 0.2 % higher in Germany and Austria and 0.1 1 % higher in Poland and the Czech Republic. Prices fell most in Bulgaria by 2.9 %, in Slovakia by 2.0 % and in Romania by 1.5 %.
In October in the EU year-on-year Prices fell by 3.0 % (3.3 % in September), with the largest price decreases in Slovakia, Luxembourg and France, by 20.4 %, 6.4 % and 5.7 % respectively. Prices were lower in Poland by 5,1 %, in Austria by 4,8 % and in Germany by 1,2 %. By contrast, prices rose most in the Czech Republic by 0.8 %, in Malta by 0.7 % and in Sweden by 0.4 %.
