Throughput of shipping containers at China's Ningbo Zhoushan port exceeded 30 million from January to October
HANGZHOU, Nov. 1 - Ningbo Zhoushan Port in eastern Zhejiang province, one of China's busiest ports, recorded a container throughput of 30 million equivalent units (TEUs) between January and October this year, the port said Wednesday.
The port has optimised the layout of its shipping routes, satisfying foreign trade enterprises and market demand. It currently operates more than 300 container routes, with the number of routes to Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partners and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries increasing to 129.
Its sea and rail intermodal container traffic also recorded steady growth in the first 10 months, up 12.1 percent year-on-year.
