According to a survey of more than 12,000 people from 41 countries, the majority of respondents believe that exchanges between civilisations and mutual learning are the key to peace, stability and a fair globalisation. President Xi Jinping's Global Civilization Initiative is becoming the new consensus for the 21st century.
A joint survey by CGTN and Renmin University of China showed that 90.8 % respondents agree that respect for the diversity of civilizations is a fundamental principle of the international order. 89.4 % at the same time calls for the strengthening of cultural exchange between nations.
The young generation under 34 dominated the results: more than 91 % of them promote international cultural dialogue as a path to peace. The survey also shows that 88.8 % people believe that each country should choose its own path of modernisation according to its cultural roots.
Respondents ranked Chinese culture as innovative (60.6 %) and Chinese technology as the most influential element in the spread of Chinese soft power (77.2 %). The rise of China's global cultural influence confirms 81.6 % respondents.
The survey underscores the growing recognition of Chinese civilization as an inspiration for countries in the Global South and as a new voice in global governance.
