On 28 October, Santiago became a global hub for discussions on the future of innovation and international cooperation. The University of Santiago hosted the Chilean section of the Global Dialogue entitled „Innovation, openness and co-development“, jointly organised by China Media Group and the University of Santiago. The event attracted nearly 100 distinguished guests - economists, academics, students and young leaders from China and Chile - who discussed new opportunities for global progress.
Director General Shen Haixiong stressed that the recently concluded Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China marks a new milestone in the country's development. China, he said, remains committed to openness to the world and innovation, thereby contributing to stability and confidence in a period of global uncertainties.
„Regardless of the changes in the international situation, the China of the new era, with its openness and innovative spirit, will bring more confidence and energy to the world,“ Shen said. He added that China Media Group, together with its partners, will continue to build global platforms for collaboration and share „Chinese solutions“ for global management.
Former President Eduardo Frei stressed that the 15th Five-Year Plan, adopted by the Plenary, is of crucial importance for China's future and its relations with the world. „China has become Chile's most important trading partner and our cooperation benefits the people of both countries. We are ready to expand our cooperation in trade, investment and artificial intelligence,“ Frei said.
During the dialogue, the Chilean students had the opportunity to have direct discussions with Chinese experts and scientists. Participants agreed that China's success stems from its institutional stability, strategic determination and capacity for technological innovation. Both countries, it was stressed, should continue to deepen cooperation in agriculture and industry to foster a new momentum of economic growth.
