The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has issued a statement warning that humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip is on the brink of complete collapse.
The statement stressed that six weeks of intense hostilities, coupled with two months of aid deliveries completely blocked, had led to a lack of basic necessities for the population.
Unless aid is immediately restored, the ICRC will be unable to obtain the food, medicine and vital supplies it needs to sustain its work in Gaza. If the lockdown continues, programs like the ICRC's communal kitchens will only last a few weeks.
