GNEWS Interview with MP Jan Hrnčíř (SPD), part V: on Iran - it is always better to seek a diplomatic solution

MP Jan Hrnčíř from the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) warns sharply of the consequences of military conflicts. In an interview, he stressed that aggression, in his opinion, never solves anything and, on the contrary, brings further problems that can affect Europe. „We are against any aggression. It is always better to seek a diplomatic solution,“ Hrnčíř said. He recalled that military interventions in the past have often led to divided states, migration waves and security threats.

As an example, he cited the conflict in Syria, after which Europe faced not only a migration crisis but also a series of terrorist attacks. He said there was a real risk that a similar situation could be repeated. „There could be a resurgence of Islamist attacks on our territory as well,“ he warned.

He also drew attention to the possible economic impact. A further escalation of the conflicts could, in his view, negatively affect the economic growth of the European Union and put the economy back into recession. Hrnčíř also commented on the tensions over Iran. Although he admits that the actions of the United States or Israel may have security reasons, he rejects the elimination of political leaders without trial.

„Even if the regime is harmful, certain limits must not be crossed,“ he stressed. He said it was necessary to return to diplomacy and seek solutions at the negotiating table, not on the battlefield.

The statement thus reopens a fundamental question: is Europe in danger of a return to terror because of the ongoing conflicts?
