Together with our American, Canadian and British allies, the Soviet bloc countries and many other nations, our elderly citizens ended the greatest tragedy of the 20th century and helped usher in a unique era for our continent. A period of lasting peace among Europeans, sought by the Founding Fathers who understood that cooperation among nations was the simplest and most effective way to prevent the return of war.
Today, the unfortunate winds of history are once again sweeping through Europe. The Russian aggressor in Ukraine is threatening the security of our entire continent. The wind of populism is threatening our democracies and our way of life together. War and hatred are back and our future depends on our response.
The European elections on 9 June are an important event in this respect:
Thanks to Europe, the Ukrainians are holding on. They are defending their territorial sovereignty, but much more. Our values, our way of life. We owe them this support.
It is thanks to Europe that we are responding to the great crises of our time, against the simplistic reactions of the extremes.
On 9 June, there is no room for hesitation: vote! Mobilize those who are reluctant or hesitant around you. Convince them to vote for the majority presidential candidate list led by Valerie Hayer: the only useful vote for pro-European voters. A vote for efficiency within the European institutions and for answers to the concerns of the French people.
The peace established by the soldiers on D-Day is fragile. The return of nationalism threatens it. Let us be vigilant. Let us be actors in our own future.
See you soon

The supreme battle begins!
After so much struggle, so much rage, so much pain, comes the decisive shock, the long-awaited shock.
Of course, it's a battle for France and it's a battle for France!
