On Tuesday, the 12th Global Video Media Forum opened in the city of Quanzhou in China's Fujian province. Nearly 200 representatives from 87 media organizations from more than 60 countries and regions attended the event to discuss the role of video media in cultural exchange and the use of artificial intelligence in video production.
During his speech, Shen Haixiong, President of the China Media Group (CMG), stressed the importance of media in connecting cultures, documenting stories and promoting cooperation. CMG, he said, aims to create a platform for cultural exchange and mutual learning between civilizations with the support of modern technology.
The forum addressed topics such as poverty reduction, agricultural modernisation, green initiatives and sustainability. During the opening ceremony, the Global South Media Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism was also launched to promote exchange among developing countries.
Representatives from six media organisations, including the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Association, the Arab Broadcasting Union and the African Union of Broadcasters, also participated in the discussions.
