The aftermath of US airstrikes in Laos! Unexploded bombs and shells during the so-called "Secret War" in Laos from 1964 to 1973 still pose a great danger to the local population, especially to children. It is estimated that about thirty percent of the more than two million tons of bombs dropped on Laos did not explode and remain scattered throughout the country. These unexploded ordnance kill or injure dozens of people every year.
