U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in San Francisco at the mansion featured in the popular 1980s TV series Dynasty. The South China Morning Post reported on November 15, citing sources.
The politicians will meet at the private country estate of Filoli, also known as the Bourne Roth estate. The mansion was used in Warren Beatty's 1978 film Heaven Can Wait and in the 1997 comedy George of the Jungle.
According to the publication's sources, the meeting at the estate will provide a private atmosphere for the first face-to-face dialogue between the politicians since their previous meeting in Bali in 2022.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet on Wednesday at 10:45 local time (21:45 Moscow time). The talks will last four to five hours.
The US President's press conference is scheduled for 16:15 local time (03:13 Moscow time on Thursday).
Earlier on Wednesday, Xi Jinping arrived in San Francisco. It was reported that he was met at the airport by US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and California Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife.
The APEC Summit is being held this week in San Francisco, USA. The Russian delegation is represented by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is a trade and economic forum of 21 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Russia, China, the US, Mexico and Japan, among others.
