The 19th G20 Leaders' Summit with the theme "Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet" will take place on 18 and 19 November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's second largest city.
In today's world, the global economic recovery is slow, global challenges are emerging one after another, and issues such as security instability, uneven development and governance failures are gaining prominence. China, as a necessary stabiliser of global development, is playing an increasingly important role. At the summit in Rio de Janeiro, President Xi Jinping will discuss with leaders of all member countries plans for cooperation on development, strive to reach consensus and jointly draw up a roadmap for global governance.

In an exclusive interview with CMG, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva spoke about the main priorities of the upcoming G20 Leaders' Summit and how the summit could contribute to addressing pressing global issues, such as how to adapt the summit agenda to the needs of developing countries and the global South.
