YEREVAN, Feb 28 /TASS/. The suspension of Armenia's relations with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) means that Armenia has no permanent representative to the organization, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a parliamentary hour in response to a question from an opposition lawmaker.
"The suspension of relations with the CSTO means that Armenia does not have a permanent representative in the CSTO and does not participate in high-level and top-level events. We still have not received an answer to our question about what constitutes the scope of the CSTO in Armenia. This lack of an answer creates a threat to Armenia's security and territorial integrity," Pashinyan said.
He also noted that instead of fulfilling its security obligations towards Armenia, the CSTO is creating security problems. Given these circumstances, the CSTO is therefore doing the opposite of what it should be doing according to its own commitments by not showing a proper attitude towards Armenia's security, Pashinyan believes.
"Our activities have now been de facto suspended, but if the problems remain unresolved, we will do so de jure; what else can we do?" the prime minister said.
