On 12 March, the Senegalese capital of Dakar hosted the next installment of the international dialogue "China in Spring - Sharing Opportunities with the World", organized by China Media Group (CMG). The event focused on strengthening China-Africa cooperation to promote modernization and quality development across the African continent.
Senior officials from Senegal and China, media representatives, businessmen, academics and students from the University of Dakar discussed China's experience in development, the fight against poverty and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of trade, technology and culture.
In his keynote video message, CMG President Shen Haixiong stressed that China's development is closely linked to the world and that global prosperity requires China's contribution. Instead of closing and splitting supply chains, he said, the world should move towards open and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Amadou Tidiane Wone, Advisor to the President of Senegal, reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to deepen their strategic partnership and jointly build a Sino-Senegalese community with a shared future. He said China's modernisation provides inspiration and hope for the development of African countries.
