China Media Group (CMG) held a press conference for the Spring Festival 2025 Gala Dinner on Sunday, where it introduced the program highlights and technological innovations, as well as the official announcement of the presenters of the evening.
This gala evening is the first one after the festival's inclusion on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. This year, it integrates multiple elements of intangible cultural heritage to create a cultural feast full of new ideas for a global audience.
The upcoming gala will invite ordinary people from all walks of life to be the protagonists and accompany the Chinese people in celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year.
In terms of technological innovations, this year's gala continues to deepen the application of 8K technology and the use of AI and "XR+ digital twin + VP" in filming, creating unlimited virtual space on set and enriching the visual presentation on the vertical display through 360-degree and 3D tracking.
In addition, for the first time, the gala will be broadcast without barriers, which will allow viewers with visual or hearing impairments to fully enjoy the cultural feast.
For example, sign language interpreters will provide interpretation using AR virtual technology on the gala's concert stage.
In addition, popular CCTV presenters Ren Luyu, Sa Beining, Nigemaiti Reheman, Long Yang and Ma Fanshu will co-host the main event of the gala in Beijing.
The gala will be broadcast on multiple platforms, including 4K Ultra HD channels, 8K Ultra HD and new media platforms such as CCTV News and CRI, on January 28 at 8:00pm.
Internationally, the gala will be broadcast on CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian channels and 82 international communication platforms in partnership with more than 2,600 major media houses in 200 countries and regions around the world.
