The European Union convenes an emergency meeting of national ambassadors in Brussels. The main topic of the meeting will be the issue of Greenland and new tariff threats from US President Donald Trump.
Shortly before, on the same day, US President Donald Trump announced that from 1 February, tariffs of 10 % would be imposed on all goods exported to the United States from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland. As of June 1, this tariff will increase to 25 % and will remain in effect until a „complete and total buyout of Greenland“ agreement is reached.
