Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in an interview with China Media Group (CMG) stressed the historical significance of China's development and the crucial role of people's unity. He pointed to the long-standing friendly relations between China and Sri Lanka, which date back to ancient times, and recalled that trade between the two countries has been going on for thousands of years.
During his interview, President Dissanayake praised China's achievements in economic and technological development and pointed out that the basis of progress is stability and cooperation among the people. He also stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between China and Sri Lanka, which brings mutual benefits to both countries.
President Dissanayake expressed his expectation that his visit to China would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and open new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, trade and cultural exchange. He said Sri Lanka sees China as a key partner for its future development and hopes to further deepen friendly ties between the two nations.
