The World Expo 2025 begins on Sunday in Osaka, Japan, and one of the most prominent national pavilions will be China's. It carries the theme "Building a Community of Human Life and Nature: the Future Green Development Society" and will offer visitors an immersive experience that combines traditional Chinese culture with modern technology.
The architectural design of the pavilion is inspired by ancient bamboo scrolls, which symbolize the spiritual and cultural essence of Chinese civilization and China's commitment to ecological development. The pavilion, which is one of the largest self-built national exhibitions, occupies 3,500 m² and is located near the central wooden structure of the Grand Roof. The two monumental scrolls at the entrance measure 17 and 15 metres and form an impressive backdrop for the arrival of visitors.
The exhibition includes examples of traditional culture, ecological civilisation and technological achievements - including samples of lunar soil from Chinese space missions. During the exhibition, the pavilion will host themed weeks, such as Sichuan Week at the end of April, followed by Beijing and Shenzhen Weeks.
The Expo in Osaka starts on April 13 and runs until October 2025.
