* Israel attacks military facilities in Iran, Tehran reports two dead soldiers. Many countries condemned the strikes

Middle Eastern countries on Saturday condemned Israel's military attack on Iran and expressed concern about its impact on regional security and stability. Israel announced on Saturday that it had completed waves of pre-emptive airstrikes on military targets in Iran. Iran announced that it had successfully countered the Israeli attack. (more here)

* Alfons Mucha's muse, the divine Sarah Bernhard, has charmed and provoked audiences for sixty years

180 years ago, an actress who was admired around the world was born in Paris. One of the most important theatre personalities of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the charismatic and extremely talented Sarah Bernhard had a harder time than today's showbiz stars, but she achieved impressive success. * EC fines ČD and ÖBB €48.7 million for collusion to exclude a joint competitor

ČD and ÖBB have conspired to prevent a new entrant, RegioJet, from accessing second-hand carriages, thereby restricting competition in the passenger rail market. (more here)

* Majority of Czechs support Kamala Harris in the US presidential election

A STEM/MARK survey of a representative sample of the Czech adult population showed that most Czechs are fans of Kamala Harris. Donald Trump is preferred by SPD, KSČM and Motorists voters, while Kamala Harris is preferred by voters of the parties of the current governing coalition. (more here)

* One millionth car produced again this September, but with a significantly higher lead over last year

In the first three quarters of this year, domestic automotive companies produced a total of 1,097,257 passenger vehicles, i.e. 7.8 % more than in the same period last year. The one million vehicle production mark was broken again in September, but this time by a significantly higher margin than last year. (more here)
