Key points for today.
Staff meeting. The complex issues of protecting not only the energy sector, but all vital infrastructure. Sanitation, communications, everything that sustains daily life in cities and towns. Air defence, electronic warfare, necessary engineering solutions and construction. I am grateful to all those who are already working at their level promptly - both in government and in the regions. It is very important that the deadlines for implementing decisions are met. We are following this closely, especially in the staff meetings. We are also working on contracts for the production of weapons and equipment in Ukraine. Each manufacturer must have a real long-term guarantee that each contract will be backed up with the necessary finance, supplies and logistics. We are also working with our partners to invest in production in Ukraine - in some areas we can already produce far more than our funding can cover.
In particular, in our visits, in our meetings, in our contacts between government officials and partners, we discuss the possibility of raising funds on a larger scale so that countries that have the financial resources but do not have their own production facilities can build their arsenal together with us and help our front line. I thank all those who have shown interest and are contributing to this cooperation. And, of course, the situation on the front line. We are preparing for a meeting tomorrow in Ramstein and we will discuss, among other things, how to overcome the difficulties and problems that have accumulated over the last six months while we have been waiting for a decision on American support. Politically, we have already achieved support. Now we have to work on filling the packages with the necessary weapons and providing the logistics. I am grateful to all the countries that have recently taken new decisions on aid to Ukraine, to our fighters, to our towns and villages. I am grateful to all those who are helping!
And today I continue to work as actively as possible on the American direction. I've already spoken with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson. I thanked him for his leadership, which now ensures that democracy in the world will not lose ground. I have also spoken to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. I thanked them for their honesty and support in the fight against terrorism. I will also be speaking with the Democratic leader in the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries. At the heart of all our conversations is our common strength - shared among all those who value human life and seek to preserve the way of life that binds us together in the Euro-Atlantic community. We have talked about "Patriots", about the strength of our arsenals, about our political cooperation. We can defeat Russian terror. We must do it. Thank you to all those who are fighting and working for our strength, for our Ukraine! Thank you to all who help!
