PRAGUE - Turnout in the European Parliament elections exceeded 30 % in many places in the Czech Republic, and in Prague it reached over 40 %. This is higher than five years ago. Neither the Election Commission nor the police presidium reported any major problems or incidents. But in the village of Břevnice in the Havlíčkobrod region, someone stole the EU flag. This is according to information from the election commissions and local authorities. The polling stations closed at 14:00 and the result of the elections will be published late on Sunday evening.
In Prague in the morning Participation according to representatives of local town halls, was generally slightly above 30 percent. It was higher, for example, in Prague 6, where the turnout had already reached 37.7 % by 10:00. In Prague 5 it was 31.2 percent at the same time. By 10:30 a.m., 32.3 percent of voters had gone to the polls in Prague 2 and 32 percent in the third district. Prague 9 reported a turnout of 31.5 percent at 11:00, Prague 1 about 34 percent and Prague 7 about 37 percent.
In Brno, 30.5 % of eligible voters had turned out to vote by 10:00, while in the rest of the region the figure was 27.4 %. In the South Bohemia Region, turnout ranged from 30 to 36 %. 33.7 % of voters in District 28 in the Nová Primary and Kindergarten in České Budějovice turned out to vote.
