The chairman and members of the leadership council and political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, who are visiting Tehran to meet with high-level Iranian officials, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting, Araghchi congratulated the resilient Palestinian people on their historic victory in Gaza over the atrocities and genocide of the Zionist regime. He stressed that the indomitable resistance of the people of Gaza - despite the unprecedented scale of the Zionist regime's genocide - will forever be recorded in history. He described the resilience and strength of the Palestinian resistance, as manifested in the return of displaced Palestinians to their homeland, as a source of immense pride for Muslims and freedom-seeking people around the world.
Araghchi stressed that despite committing heinous crimes and massacring thousands of women, children and defenseless civilians, the Zionist regime was eventually forced to negotiate and reach an agreement with the very movement it sought to exterminate. He stressed that the occupation regime had failed to achieve its goals, while Hamas, relying on its unwavering faith and the deep support of its people, had forced the enemy to accept a ceasefire on the terms of the resistance and secured the release of long-imprisoned Palestinian prisoners.
The foreign minister also strongly rejected the US president's proposal to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from Gaza, describing it as a continuation of the colonial plot to erase Palestine. He argued that such a plan grossly violated international law, UN resolutions and, above all, basic human principles, making it completely unacceptable.
Referring to his recent phone calls with the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the foreign ministers of several Arab and Islamic countries, Araghchi highlighted Iran's continued efforts to convene an emergency ministerial meeting of the OIC. He stressed the urgent need for a united and resolute stand by Islamic nations against this dangerous conspiracy.
Mohammad Ismail Darwish, Chairman of the Hamas Leadership Council, expressed his satisfaction with the visit to Tehran and the meeting with the Supreme Leader, the President and the Speaker of Parliament. He congratulated them on two important events - the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the great victory of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. He also expressed his deep gratitude for the unwavering support of the Palestinian leadership, government and people of Iran for Palestine and the resistance.
He paid tribute to the fallen leaders and commanders of the resistance, in particular the martyrs Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, Sayyid Hashemi Safi al-Din and thousands of Palestinian, Lebanese, Iraqi, Yemeni and Iranian fighters, including the revered martyr General Qassem Soleimani. He described their sacrifices in the fight against the crimes of the Zionist regime as a decisive chapter in the Palestinian struggle.
The Hamas chairman said that the recent victory in Gaza represented a turning point in Palestinian history, inflicting a strategic defeat on the occupation regime in all military, political, intelligence and ethical areas, while gaining unprecedented global support for the Palestinian cause.
He condemned the US President's proposal to remove the Palestinians from Gaza and stressed the need for a strong and united Arab and Islamic position against such plans and in support of the Palestinian people. He affirmed that no force could drive the resilient Palestinian people - who had endured more than 15 months of genocide but remained steadfast - from their homeland. He declared that just as they had resisted brutal crimes and aggression, they had returned victorious to their homes and land, for they were as deeply rooted in Gaza as its ancient olive trees.
Darwish also praised Iran's continuous and extensive diplomatic efforts in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in international forums. He expressed the hope that, once the ceasefire agreement is fully implemented, there will be a regional and global initiative to support the reconstruction of Gaza and alleviate the immense suffering of the Palestinian people.
