The Irish people clearly rejected changes to their constitution in Friday's referendum, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar announced today. The vote was on a proposal to delete the wording on housewives and families made up exclusively of married couples. The results are very clear, the Government respects them and accepts responsibility for them, the Taoiseach said, according to the Irish Times.
