NEW CASTLE - U.S. President Joe Biden today cast his vote in the U.S. presidential election for Democratic nominee and his vice presidential running mate, Kamala Harris. Reuters reports that the current White House chief executive took the opportunity to vote in his home state of Delaware ahead of the November election date.
The 87-year-old president joined the many Americans who had already decided to vote before November 5, either in person or by mail.
Biden was originally supposed to run against Republican Donald Trump for the presidency as he did in 2016, when he defeated him, but in July he decided to withdraw from the race due to doubts about his fitness and his age. The Democratic nominee then became the 60-year-old Harris.
The US president today commented on the involvement of billionaire Elon Musk in the Trump campaign. He called it inappropriate that Musk is giving away money in connection with the election. Earlier this month, the businessman promised to pay $1 million (CZK 23 million) every day until the election to one of those who sign his online petition in support of Trump's candidacy.
