ODS.CZ - (Hradecký deník) Martin Červíček, candidate for the Hradec Králové Region for the Strong Leaders for the Region and candidate for the Senate in the Náchod region, answered the questions of Deník readers in an online interview. All questions and answers of Martin Červíček can be found on the website www.denik.cz.
What's upsetting you in the county?
Failure to meet the responsibility of health insurance companies to provide sufficient numbers of doctors, paediatricians and dentists to the primary outpatient network in our region. And the persistence of protracted decision-making in public procurement related to transport infrastructure, which is most acutely felt in the completion of the D11 motorway.
How do you want to stabilise medical staff so that they do not leave hospitals?
The medical staff in our hospitals over the last four years has been stable - just for the record, we have 150 more full-time jobs over the last period, we have taken the hospitals out of debt. The remuneration of medical staff has increased by 27 per cent for doctors and 11 per cent for nurses. We are investing heavily in district hospitals, both for our patients and for our health workers, so that they can do modern medicine in district hospitals as well. We have a stable network of health facilities. We regularly negotiate with health insurance companies about their sustainability and possible development. We offer scholarships to students who will practice in our region after their studies.
Are investments in roads adequate?
In the last eight years, we have invested an average of CZK 1.2 billion per year, which is three times more than before 2017. The capacity and ability to invest could still increase to around two billion a year if we find additional sources of funding. We have seven billion crowns of projects in the pipeline. But it should also be remembered that the state is also investing significantly in our region thanks to our pressure and negotiation efforts.
How do you intend to combine the office of governor and senator?
Assuming you are used to getting things done, you know how to make the most of your time, you have management skills and capable co-workers, it is definitely possible. I got the confidence to be governor from my constituents when I had already been a senator for two years. I have used both positions and their interplay for the prosperity of the region and it is demonstrable that thanks to this interplay we have not only managed all crises, but in a number of areas we have achieved much needed solutions. I do not receive a full salary for both functions. I do not steal. I have no debts or foreclosures. I am not involved in any of the private companies. I have never misused public funds for personal gain. As County Executive, I am well aware of the problems and priorities in the various areas of public administration in our county, as well as the specifics important to solving them. As a senator, in addition to the opportunity to influence the legislative process during committee or Senate plenary deliberations, I often use this position to personally negotiate with ministers or the Prime Minister, no matter what government, where as a governor I would not be able to push through the intentions or the process would be much longer.
