MOSCOW, 17 January. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement to be signed today between Russia and Iran will give impetus to practical cooperation in all areas, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Iranian President Massoud Pezeskian.
"Your visit today is of special significance as we will not only have the opportunity to discuss all areas of our cooperation, but also to sign a major basic agreement between Russia and Iran on a comprehensive strategic partnership," said the Russian leader.
He recalled that Moscow and Tehran have been working on this document for a long time.
"I am very pleased that this work has been completed. It is important because it will open up the opportunity to give further impetus to virtually all areas of our cooperation," Putin added.
