(www.ods.cz) The SPOLU coalition has entered the hot phase of the euro election campaign. In the presence of hundreds of supporters in Prague's Fanta Hall, it was said that only the SPOLU coalition has a real chance to stand up to the populists and all those who use Europe only to fulfil one man's personal interests. The SPOLU candidate is the only candidate with strong personalities, proven by hard work in the European Parliament for the benefit of our country.
"To tackle the growing security threats, the dangers of illegal migration, to jointly ensure energy and strategic self-sufficiency and prosperity, we need to change the European Union in a sensible way. But the fight for a better Europe is not a fight against Brussels and the European Union. The SPOLU coalition is the only democratic grouping that has a real chance of defeating the ANO movement in the European elections and preventing the pernicious influence of populists and extremists on the future of Europe. Our candidate offers the best that the Czech Republic has at its disposal at the moment. Our candidates are strong personalities with a proven track record of years of hard work on behalf of our country. Only TOGETHER do we have a chance to win," said Petr Fiala, ODS chairman and prime minister.
"The candidate of the SPOLU coalition for the Euro elections is led by leaders with undisputed experience. Leaders who know the work in the European Parliament well and the voters know them. They have long proven their interest in maintaining the pro-Western and pro-EU direction of the Czech Republic. And these personalities are then perfectly complemented in European politics by faces that are not familiar, perhaps younger, but with fresh enthusiasm and the necessary competences. I am glad that I can cite the example of the seasoned MEP and renowned economist Luděk Niedermayer, who is backed up by Ondřej Kolář, MEP and Vice-Chair of the Committee on European Affairs. And I could go on and on... Because that's what the SPOLU candidate is - diverse and competent." She told Markéta Pekarová Adamová, President of TOP 09 and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies.
"The People's Party candidates bring to the European Parliament a rational view of how to solve the problems facing the EU as a whole, be it in the areas of security, the environment or agriculture. Our candidate successfully continues the winning SPOLU project. The KDU-ČSL candidates on the joint three-party candidate list will represent us well in the EU," said Marian Jurečka, chairman of the KDU-ČSL and deputy prime minister.
"SPOLU is within striking distance of the ANO movement. Our competitors know this very well and I want you to know it too. To use hockey parlance, we are playing in the offensive zone, we are pressing, the opponent's goalkeeper is on his back. All we have to do to win is knock the puck into the net. I believe we'll run the final end today. We'll push the puck into the net and get the YES movement on the final power-play. We have it in our hands, let's go for it," He told Alexandr Vondra, MEP and superleader of the SPOLU candidate.
"We're going to the finals. In the next three weeks we will decide. We are within striking distance of the ANO movement. Only the SPOLU coalition has a real chance to win and defeat those who use Europe only to fulfil one man's personal interests. Let's keep up our momentum for three more weeks, let's keep going and we will win." said Veronika Vrecionová, MEP and number two on the SPOLU candidate list.
"Our ambition must be to return the Union to the economic first league and the Czech Republic to the countries that are doing best in it. To underestimate the signs of a competitiveness problem would be a costly mistake. And the SPOLU candidate wants to clearly support the competitiveness of our companies. Especially through innovation and market competition. We will continue to reduce barriers to business and facilitate investment. We are in favour of making life easier for SMEs and start-ups, which are the driving force of the Union's economy. We are in favour of reducing regulation and dependence on risky countries in key areas such as chips, important raw materials or medicines. And, of course, we are in favour of consumer protection. What we must not allow is to expose our companies to unfair competition from third countries," approached Luděk Niedermayer, MEP and number three on the SPOLU candidate list.
"The safety of our citizens is our first priority. We will not support any compromise that would weaken it. We have set a clear agenda to tackle illegal migration. Smugglers and neighbouring dictators will not dictate who comes into the EU and who does not," said Tomáš Zdechovský, MEP and number 4 on the SPOLU candidate list.
The coalition also unveiled new campaign visuals: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/y7fufae07we0f85toornp/ANLhObuYW4NOsLLElfwO9UQ?rlkey=4yhshikyz3vrwxyzqwgkfmteq&e=1&dl=0
