On the morning of 9 May local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping's wife Peng Liyuan was invited to visit the Royal Palace in Budapest and have tea with Zsuzsanna Nagy, wife of Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok.
Zsuzsanna Nagy accompanied Pcheng Li-yuan on a tour of Hungarian Herend porcelain and traditional embroidery techniques. Peng Li-yuan said that the exquisite Hungarian porcelain and the great art of embroidery are impressive. Porcelain and embroidery are common symbols of the civilizations of China and Hungary. She hopes that artists from the two countries will strengthen exchanges and mutual learning and promote the integration of the two civilizations. Peng Liyuan and Zsuzsanna Nagy heard information about the status of the restoration of St. Stephen's Hall in the Royal Palace. Peng Li-yuan praised the excellent restoration skills of the Hungarian experts and expressed her hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the protection and restoration of cultural monuments to better convey the historical context.
