Czech Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) wants the Voice-SD to explain the expulsion of Samuel Migal and Radomír Šalitros (both from the Voice-SD) from the parliamentary club. "If there were a hundred of us in the governing coalition, I imagine we would say goodbye to someone, but there are 79 of us and two of them have already been expelled and the problem with Rudolf Huliak (non-aligned) and the other two is still not resolved," Fico said in a discussion programme on STV Saturday dialogues. He also does not know what the Voice will do with MPs Ján Ferenčák and Roman Malatinac.
According to Fico, the SNS and Hlas-SD parties cannot maintain the number of MPs with whom they entered the governing coalition. In his own words, he is not responsible for that. "Andrej Danko and Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) are responsible for this. (...) I repeat to them, don't ask me to solve your internal problems," Fico said. The heads of the coalition parties have until the end of March to resolve the situation.
At the same time, Fico wants to wait for the February parliamentary session. The health law and the construction law are to be discussed there. "Everything will be chopped up in March," He remarked. He sees early elections as a technical solution, but not a political one.
The Prime Minister also announced changes to the Constitution. He will seek support for them across the political spectrum. Asked whether he had already discussed support with the opposition KDH, he replied that they were still in contact along professional lines. "We have a different view on how to enshrine in the Constitution that the sovereignty of the Slovak Republic always applies in moral and ethical matters and cannot be regulated other than by an act of the European Union. We therefore want to regulate this. If we like the KDH's modification, we will easily insert it into this proposal." Fico said. At the same time, he wants to address the enshrinement of both sexes, the topic of child adoption and the Slovak Republic's education programme, which must be based on the principles and principles of the constitution.
"We will present it to the public, we will give them the opportunity to comment on it, but I would not like to get into a losing battle. If it is seen that there is no interest, we will not present it to the National Council." Fico said.
The election of the head of the Slovak National Council will not take place at the February meeting, the Prime Minister says. He does not consider it essential to deal with this issue. If there is an agreement on the position of the SNS and Hlas, Smer is ready to respect it. Fico wants to address the issue in March.
In connection with a possible coup in Slovakia, he said a list of people who could be administratively expelled from Slovakia because of their ties abroad is being prepared. According to Fico, this would be a group of several dozen people. The expulsions are expected to take place in the coming days. "We are finding out when they crossed over to Slovakia, where they are, what they are doing," the Prime Minister said, adding that financial flows were also being examined.
He also commented on the negotiations with the Ukrainian government, the next one could be in March or April. It should take place somewhere on the border between Ukraine and Slovakia. He described as false the statements that Slovakia wanted to leave the European Union.
