Bratislava, October 25 (TASR) - The newly appointed government will be constructive, will not shy away from any challenge and will pursue a sovereign foreign policy. A sovereign Slovak voice will be heard from the government and ministries. Robert Fico (Smer-SD) said this in his speech after his appointment as prime minister.
"I wish that after the end of the mandate of this government we could all state not numbers, but that life in Slovakia will be better and that Slovakia will be more peaceful. This is what I am giving in front of the entire Slovak public," Fico said.

He recalled that never in the modern history of Slovakia has a government faced such poor socio-economic indicators, poverty and ruined finances. At the same time, Fico was pleased that the National Council of Slovakia had taken the right step in electing the president.
President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová appointed the government of the Slovak Republic, which will be led by Fico, at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday. The government coalition was formed by the parties Směr-SD, Hlas-SD and SNS. They shared the government posts in a 7:7:3 ratio.
