On Monday, 19 August 2024, President of the Republic Petr Pavel and Mrs Eva Pavlova met with more than 90 representatives of Czech companies with potential for rapid growth and international expansion at Lány Castle. During the afternoon programme they had the opportunity to hear the views and experiences of each of the participants of this meeting.
"I am convinced that if there is something we are lacking, it is not capable and courageous people, but the courage and will to do something. We don't have the courage to support it, and on the contrary, we are often mired in complaining, looking for reasons why something is not working and why we should avoid it. And you are proof that this is definitely not the case, that there is something to build on," said President Petr Pavel at the beginning of the meeting. "We would very much like to contribute to giving visibility to what you are doing. We will bring you together a little bit among yourselves, so that you start to make contacts, so that you find out who is doing what and that you are not alone in this. So that we can start to bring those islands of positive deviance, as it's been said repeatedly, together into a single stream that makes it clear that we have what it takes to play in the big leagues, and that we don't just have to keep reminding ourselves that we're a small country that has to put up with what the big guys leave for crumbs." said President Pavel.
