President of the Republic Petr Pavel and Mrs Eva Pavlova visited Austria on 25 and 26 July at the personal invitation of President Alexander Van der Bellen. Together with the Austrian presidential couple, they attended the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festival, including the evening premiere of Richard Strauss's opera Capriccio performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The visit also included a private dinner for the two presidential couples, a meeting with the Governor of the Federal State of Salzburg, the Mayor of Salzburg and a walk through the Mirabell Gardens.
