Chinese President Xi Jinping called for strengthening cooperation with neighbouring countries and building a community with a shared future. He said this at a central conference on relations with neighbouring countries held in Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday.
In his speech, Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, summarized the achievements to date in this area, analyzed the current situation, and outlined goals and measures for the next phase of work with neighboring countries.
The conference, which was also attended by other top Party officials and Vice President Han Zheng, highlighted the importance of neighbouring regions for China's national development, security and diplomatic strategy. Premier Li Qiang, while presiding over the conference, called for strict implementation of the spirit of Xi's speech.
Finally, it called for a global perspective on neighbouring regions and for a stronger responsibility to develop relations with neighbouring countries as part of a broader vision of a common future for humanity.
