The political authorities of the Communist Party of China convened a meeting on Thursday to discuss and plan the party's steps to improve conduct, build integrity and fight corruption for 2026.
The meeting was chaired by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
In 2025, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi at its core, disciplinary and supervisory authorities at all levels intensified their efforts to improve conduct, build integrity and fight corruption, maintained a zero-tolerance stance towards corruption, and achieved new progress and results.
In 2026, disciplinary and supervisory bodies must enforce full and strict party self-governance with higher standards and more effective measures to provide a strong guarantee for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Prior to the meeting itself, Xi chaired a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, where reports on the work of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission for 2025 were discussed, as well as preparations for the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
The plenary session is scheduled for 12–14 January 2026.
