RuRussian President Vladimir Putin met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his DPRK counterpart, Minister Choe Son-hui, for talks in Moscow on Tuesday, January 16. This was reported by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin receives DPRK Foreign Minister in Kremlin Choe Son-hui," he said.
According to the spokesman, the foreign ministers informed the President of the agreements reached.
On this day, Lavrov noted during his meeting with Choe Son-hui that Russia is grateful to the DPRK for its support in connection with the special operation in Ukraine. He also stressed that Moscow and Pyongyang continue to work closely together at the UN. The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that the Russian Federation called for the rejection of any steps that lead to the escalation of tensions around the Korean Peninsula.
In October, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry came to visit the DPRK. He met with his North Korean counterpart. Before that, in September, Lavrov noted that Russia would develop equal and fair cooperation with North Korea despite the UN Security Council sanctions.
