MOSCOW, April 4 /TASS/. The perpetrators of the March 22 terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the Moscow suburbs were primarily trying to damage the national unity of the Russian people, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the 12th congress of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.
"Judging by the investigators' reports, we have every reason to believe that the main goal of the perpetrators of this terrible, murderous terrorist act in Moscow was precisely to damage our unity. No other aims are even apparent. There are none!" said the Russian head of state. "But the goal of undermining the unity of Russian society, moreover in the current conditions, is undeniably clear to all," the president added.
In particular, Putin stressed that the most important condition for Russia's overall success is the unity of the country's multi-ethnic society. "This is the main and basic condition for our success," the president said.
