On October 21, 2024, the Silk Road Rediscovery Tour was launched in Beijing with the theme of "Discover a modernized city of opportunity". The event welcomed prominent international influencers from Albania, Brazil, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, the United States and Uzbekistan. The aim is to introduce the world to the unique charm of the Chinese capital, where ancient history and modern technology intertwine.
The opening speech was given by Mukhammad Obidov, editor-in-chief of the Uzbek National News Agency, who stressed the growing interest of the Uzbek people in neighbouring China and proposed to establish an alliance of journalists from Central Asia and China. Kanat Sakhariyanov, director of Kazakhstan's Atameken TV, in turn highlighted Beijing as a city of tolerance and respect.
Brazilian influencer Lucas Eleuterio Fernandes, a well-known journalist with more than two million followers on Instagram, returned to China after 14 years and praised the country's stunning progress. He stated that China is a country that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
During the five-day program, influencers will visit key cultural and technological hotspots in Beijing, such as the Forbidden City Museum, the Olympic Tower, the GTVerse Center and Shougang Park, gaining a broad perspective on the city's unique mix of ancient heritage and contemporary achievements.
