The Chinese Ministry of Commerce held its regular press conference. Ministry spokesman He Yadong said the Chinese government strictly controls the export of all dual-use goods, including drones, in accordance with laws and regulations, and has issued several notices.
He Yadong further said that it should be emphasized that the Chinese government adheres to the concept of overall development and security, supports Chinese companies in carrying out international trade and cooperation with drones in the civilian field, and resolutely opposes the illegal use of civilian drones for non-peaceful purposes. This not only contributes to fulfilling international obligations, but also to ensuring the security and stability of the global production and supply chain.
At the press conference one of the reporters asked as the US House of Representatives plans to vote on an annual defence bill that includes allocating more than three billion dollars to US telecommunications companies to remove communications equipment from Chinese firms Huawei and ZTE from US wireless networks because of an alleged security threat.
Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesman He Yadong said the US accusations that Chinese information and communication products pose a security risk are completely without any factual basis. The Chinese side strongly rejects the US practice of expanding the concept of national security, violating the principles of market economy and fair competition, and disrupting normal economic and trade cooperation between Chinese and US enterprises. China hopes that the United States will respect the facts and stop politicising and militarising economic and trade issues. The Chinese side will take all necessary measures to vigorously protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
