The upcoming Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is attracting worldwide attention. China will further deepen all-round reform and focus on promoting China's modernisation. According to three global surveys conducted by media company CGTN, 76.9 % respondents highly appreciate China's high-quality development achievements and expect China to further deepen reforms comprehensively to bring more opportunities to the world.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, more than 2,000 reform policies have been introduced, covering many areas such as economy, politics, culture, society and ecology. China has achieved outstanding results - GDP growth is among the top of the world's largest economies, significant progress has been made in building a modern industrial system, and many breakthroughs have been made in scientific and technological innovation. China's per capita disposable income is rising and remarkable progress has been made in building an ecological civilisation.
In the survey, 80.3 per cent of respondents are complimentary about China's economic development and believe it will bring further benefits to the world. In the long term, 85.2 percent of respondents are optimistic about China's positive economic dynamics. China's scientific and technological strength is praised by 93.2 percent of respondents. China's achievements in independent innovation are recognized by 85.4 percent. 78.5 percent of respondents believe that green industry will be a strong support for China's quality development.
The direction is determined by the future and the path is a matter of destiny. In the face of new development requirements, China has proposed the "development of new high-quality production forces in accordance with local conditions" to inject vitality into high-quality development. In the survey, 87.1 percent of respondents from all over the world agree that new high-quality production forces will help China's upgrading process to be fast and good. The starting point and goal of reform is to enable people to live a better life. In the survey, 84.3 percent of respondents appreciate China's people-oriented principle and believe that China has always tried to bring the fruits of reform to all people in a more equitable way. Another 91.9 percent of respondents agree with China's suggestion that "development must not be at the expense of the environment" and recognize China's practice of promoting harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
By continuing to deepen reforms, China has brought new opportunities to the world and provided important and valuable experience to the countries of the "Global South". In the survey, 79.6 percent of respondents fully recognized China's significant contribution to global economic growth. According to 73.6 percent of respondents, China's business environment is attractive to global investors. 73.3 percent believe that China's high degree of opening up will bring opportunities to the world.
The survey also showed that 93.8 percent of them believe that international public goods, such as the China-initiated Belt and Road Initiative, bring development opportunities to all countries. 84.5 percent of respondents from around the world believe that China's development provides a new reference for other countries. 74 percent of respondents expect China to share more experiences of high-quality economic development to achieve common development. 81.9 percent of respondents believe that China is a country full of opportunities and China's development will continue to provide opportunities to the world.
The survey was conducted among 15,037 respondents worldwide, including respondents from developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Australia, and from developing countries such as Brazil, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and South Africa.
