BEIJING, April 26 /TASS/. The North Atlantic alliance bears direct responsibility for the Ukraine crisis, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a press briefing. The spokesman stressed that China does not provide weapons to the parties to the conflict and strictly controls dual-use goods, including the export of drones.
"NATO bears undeniable responsibility for this crisis. The alliance should reflect on its role, stop shifting blame and effectively take practical steps towards a political settlement of the crisis," he said.
Wang added that China does not provide weapons to conflicting parties and strictly controls dual-use goods, including the export of drones.
He further stated that "more than 60 percent of the weapons components and dual-use goods imported by Russia come from the United States and Western countries." He stressed that Russia and China maintain normal and open trade and economic cooperation.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg earlier said that 90 percent of the microelectronics imported by Russia in 2023 will come from China, and that China is reportedly supplying Russia with satellite imagery.
