BEIJING, March 27 /TASS/. The nature of relations between China and the United States affects not only the well-being of the people of both countries but also the future of mankind, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with American businessmen held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
"The well-being of the people of both countries, as well as the future and destiny of mankind, depends on whether China and the United States cooperate or oppose each other," China Central Television quoted him as saying.
The Chinese president stressed that "as long as the two sides regard each other as partners, respect each other's interests, coexist peacefully and cooperate to achieve win-win results, bilateral relations will improve."
Xi Jinping also expressed his hope to increase the intensity of exchanges between representatives of all levels of society in the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang I.
