Members of the Chamber of Deputies meet for the 98th Ordinary Session of the Chamber of Deputies. The priority of the SPOLU coalition at the plenary session is the law on social services and an amendment to the law on the protection of the agricultural land fund, which, among other things, supports the construction of agrivoltaics, or a special type of photovoltaic power plants on agricultural land, thus enabling the dual use of agricultural land. According to the chairman of the ODS parliamentary club, Marek Benda, the 99th extraordinary session on Thursday should not see the approval of the agenda.
"On Tuesday we expect to open approximately eight items in the second reading, even at the cost of an evening session. The Prime Minister has addressed a letter to the Speaker of the House in which he draws attention to four laws that have already passed their implementation deadlines. These are, for example, the company reorganisations, the insolvency amendment and the two class action laws. The three items should be on the floor tomorrow morning so that we will be able to send the prints out of the House this week. We expect to have a special session on Thursday, where I anticipate a non-approval of the agenda. And on Friday, we would continue with the legislative block of third, second, and possibly first readings," outlined the agenda of the meeting Marek Benda, chairman of the ODS parliamentary club.
"Today we are entering the third reading of the amendment to the Social Services Act. Its key point is an increase in the care allowance, with a total annual impact of CZK 7 billion. In stages II, III and IV, we will thus increase the care allowances considerably more than the opposition proposed. We also value those who care for their loved ones at home, which is why we will increase their allowance by more than CZK 7 800." said the deputy chairman of the KDU-ČSL parliamentary club Jiří Navrátil.
"I would like to mention the amendment to the Act on the Protection of the Agricultural Land Fund, which we will be discussing in the second reading. In particular, it regulates the protection of the most valuable agricultural land and seeks to regulate the construction of, for example, shopping centres and large logistics parks on this land. It promotes the construction of agrivoltaics, a special type of photovoltaic power plant, on agricultural land. This allows for the dual use of agricultural land, which in practice means that such land can be farmed as well as generating electricity," adds the vice-chairman of the TOP 09 club Michal Kučera.
