The Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee met on Monday to review the report on the third round of disciplinary inspection launched by the 20th CPC Central Committee.
The meeting was chaired by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, the inspections showed a strengthening of party building in central party and state organs as well as in centrally-run financial institutions. Nevertheless, some problems were identified that need to be addressed.
The meeting called for the identified deficiencies to be rectified in order to promote quality development. Party committees at all levels were urged to strengthen political accountability, take decisive steps to overcome challenges and implement reforms with determination while ensuring security in key areas.
Emphasis was also placed on continuing the uncompromising fight against corruption, including addressing its causes and conditions. The fight against corruption is to be conducted in a systematic and long-term manner.
