PRAGUE - The state budget deficit rose to CZK 192.3 billion at the end of July from CZK 178.6 billion in June. The finance ministry announced this today. The state's economic result for seven months is the best since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the deficit is the fifth deepest since the Czech Republic was founded. Last July, the deficit was CZK 214.1 billion. Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura (ODS) believes that it will be possible to meet the full-year planned deficit of CZK 252 billion.
