Juraj Cintula zAccording to the website, he also said he did not intend to kill Fico, but only intended to "damage his health" to the extent that the politician would be unable to serve as prime minister.
The armed attack on Fico occurred on 15 May in the western Slovak town of Handlová. The politician suffered gunshot wounds and had to undergo surgery. Juraj Cintula, 71, was charged with politically motivated assassination attempt.
Robert Fico was the Slovak Prime Minister in 2006-2010 and 2012-18. He became Prime Minister again on 25 October 2023.
